AntiSpy is produced by OmniQuad software and is another security suite dedicated exclusively to spyware detection. We didn’t know muck about this software but we found some reviews and we decided to test this antispyware to find which is the top ten with best antispyware software.
AntiSpy can be downloaded from producer site of from our website. The installation process is simple precise. This software put a little bit difficulty if you have a low resources computer because this antispyware doesn’t run properly on this type of machine. We advice you to install this program just if you have a minimum of 1GB of RAM and about 1,8MHz processor.
AntiSpy was projected to detect, block and delete unwanted spyware present on computer guest. These spyware can send private data to other machines from the network. You can loose card data, passwords or other sensible data from your PC without an antispyware installed.
AntiSpy is well designed and can be used by an average medium computer user. It has good features but the implementation is a little wrong in our opinion. The updater is weak because the updates are not running daily – like the majority of security software. This is not a good thing because every day new threats, viruses, malware hijackers and spyware appear. In this case you are exposed for a period of time (1-2 days) and may be infected without this antispyware warning you.
The module for spyware detection is not very powerful and we found this thing not very pleasant. You may think your computer is fully protected with this antispyware but you’re wrong and you may loose data because the software doesn’t say anything about this infection. The detection rate is not very high but we consider AntySpy good software for spyware detection, only if you navigate not very often on the Internet and decrease the risk of infection.
AntiSpy scans in real time the computer hard disk and the registry for dangerous changes. Is a problem is detected it warning you and you are asked if you want to delete or block the dangerous operation.
The removal capability is good and you may delete any spyware detected without problem. A good feature is the rollback which allows you to restore deleted data. If you think the detected file wasn’t dangerous you can restore the file with this capability.
The scanning time is very good but the weak point it that antispyare is still not very powerful and the result of scanning can be wrong. Anyway, AntiSpy is a good antispyware if you are not a very often Internet user.
We hope that version of AntiSpy will be improved in next versions but these days it ranking in positions nine in our top ten best antispyware software.
