Norman Internet Security is another program used to protect computer users against web problems. This suite was tested in our labs. The results are not very impressing and it looks like this Security Suite is still unfinished.
Norman Internet Security offers by default virus protection, spyware detection, parental control module and included firewall. This software is not very reliable and it cannot offer full protection as the producer said but is still a good choice for PC users which not navigate often on the web.
Installation of Norman Security Suite was easy to perform. This software check if the PC has security software already installed. Is a good point for this program because it prevents compatibility with other antivirus programs.
We tested the firewall and the virus protection in different conditions to find which the weak points of Norman Internet Security are. The firewall offers to users a good protection against hackers and other attacks. It can be customized by an average user and offers medium to strong protection. We liked possibility to configure in advanced mode like MAC filtering for example.
The antivirus is not very reliable and does not pass the tests from our laboratories. Norman Internet Security Suite not passed a few laboratories certifications because the antivirus is still not very well integrated and the rate detection is not at a high level. The antivirus module scans automatically all email correspondence and delete any virus or malware existing in emails. This version of Norman Antivirus needs re-projecting because is still at distance to a high detection antivirus and malware.
Norman Internet Security has included antispyware software. We can say this anti spyware has a good rate of detection and removal capability but is still a lot of work to be well integrated with antivirus scanner. The antispyware is not a memory consuming and you can use it for detection of spyware threats on a medium computer.
Norman Security Suite it has included a parental control filter. This module works at good level and is easy to configure. It can be used to keep the children safe from the internet dangerous sites with adult content or inappropriate information.
Norman Internet Security offers a medium protection for computer users. This version can be installed on three computers with one license and it’s a economic security pack for home users and small business.
